Let the Games begin! IWG looks forward to the London 2012 Olympic Games Those iconic rings – blue, yellow, black, green and red – linking to form one of the most widely recognized international symbols. Synonymous with the Olympic movement and its values of excellence, friendship and respect, the Olympic rings communicate volumes no matter what language you speak. Nowadays, the umbrella of Olympic values also includes gender equality, and women’s involvement in elite sport as athletes, coaches, trainers, officials and fans has been on the rise ever since women were first allowed to compete at the 1900 Paris games.

WADA shows full support for the Brighton Declaration When the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and governments from around the world in 1999, it was given a clear mandate to protect the rights of clean ‘athletes’ across the globe. Obviously there was no distinction made between men’s sport and women’s sport, or between male competitors and female competitors.

Norway: “Kvinneløftet” giving women a boost Norwegian female athletes from 13 different summer sports have, over the past six years, met regularly in Oslo to be a part of “Kvinneløftet”. Three days per year they have gathered to share experience, supplement their expertise, and to be supported and challenged in their development as elite athletes. "Kvinneløftet" is an inter-sport project that aims to raise both the quality and number of women in elite sport, and the name of the project refers to a boost for women. The target group is female athletes, coaches and team managers, and the project forms part of Olympiatoppen’s efforts to optimize elite sport development in selected women's national teams in the period 2006-2012 (female coaches 2016).
